There’s something incredibly special about creating fused glass pieces that will live in beautiful spaces all across the country. My latest production order—200 fused glass soap dishes for a luxury resort hotel in Florida—was no exception. For every single soap dish, I start by cutting the glass by hand to ensure consistent sizing. Then I wash every piece thoroughly (glass fuses cleaner and stronger when free from oils and dust). Once prepped, the glass goes into the kiln for a full fuse, transforming individual pieces into a single smooth and solid sheet of glass.
After cooling, I wash each fused sheet again before placing them into molds to slump into their final shape. When the slumping is complete, the glass is cooled and washed once more so each dish is spotless, polished, and ready for packaging. From start to finish, every piece passes through my hands multiple times, and I am grateful for these production opportunities. Whether it’s an order of 20 dishes or 250, I truly appreciate the trust hotels, restaurants, and spas place in my work. T
