There are some fused glass projects that have been on my wish list for years, and making a tiered plate stand is definitely one of them! Well, I finally did it, and here is my very first one! I chose one of my absolute favorite glasses, with its gorgeous swirls of creamy ivory, smoky gray, rich earthy tones, and beautiful touches of turquoise blue. I love how each plate has its own unique pattern, yet all three complement each other perfectly. The decorative metal handle brings everything together, creating a beautiful piece that’s both functional and elegant. I couldn’t be happier with how my first attempt turned out! And the best part? I didn’t stop at just one!

For my second tiered plate stand, I chose another one of my absolute favorite glasses—this gorgeous black, white, and gray Spirit Glass! I just love the elegant swirls and flowing patterns that run through the glass, creating beautiful movement and depth. The combination of bold black, soft gray, and brilliant white gives each plate a sophisticated, almost marble-like appearance. What I especially love is how each of the three plates has its own unique pattern, yet they all coordinate beautifully. I also chose a more decorative silver handle for this stand, which adds just the right touch of elegance. The finished piece is so striking, and I can just imagine it filled with beautiful little desserts at an afternoon tea or displayed as a centerpiece. I absolutely love how this one turned out! Two completely different looks, and I honestly can’t decide which one is my favorite!

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at how I created my first tiered plate stand using that gorgeous Reactive Blue and French Vanilla glass! Once my three plates were fused and ready, I needed to find the exact center of each one so the stand would be properly aligned. I used a ruler and drew diagonal lines from corner to corner to mark the centers, then carefully drilled the holes for the hardware. I will admit, fused glass is quite a bit heavier than traditional ceramic plates, so getting everything balanced and securely assembled was a bit of a challenge! But I was determined to make it work. Just look at those beautiful swirls of blue, creamy vanilla, and rich earthy tones! This glass is absolutely stunning, and I love how no two plates look exactly alike. A little patience, some careful measuring, and a bit of trial and error were definitely worth it! I have other ideas, so this isn’t the last you’ll see of my fused glass tiered plates.
