One of the things I adore most about fused glass is its incredible versatility. Whether you’re creating jewelry, home décor, or functional art, there’s always something new to explore and fall in love with. In this post, I’m sharing just a few fun examples of how I’ve used fused glass to make unique and beautiful items. Let’s start with these nine fused glass photo stands—each one handcrafted with its own flair. I know I may be showing my age, but I still love holding actual printed photos in my hand over digital ones. These little stands are a perfect way to celebrate those memories! The first two are especially whimsical, bursting with millefiori and frit, adding a vibrant pop of personality to whatever photo they’re paired with.
One of my favorite little accents to create in the studio are fused glass dots. They may be small, but their uses are nearly endless! I make them often, and they’re perfect for crafting rings, earrings, or adding a colorful flair to other fused glass pieces. A fun and functional way I love to use them is on glass nail files—but not just any nail files! I always buy high-quality ones made in the Czech Republic, not China. The craftsmanship from the Czech Republic is far superior, and they’re known for producing the best glass nail files in the world. With a little fused glass dot added, they become the perfect combination of art and practicality—great for gifts too! Another creative use for my glass dots is gluing them onto tiny wooden clothespins and attaching mini magnets to the back. These make adorable refrigerator magnets—fun, functional, and totally unique!
I’ve written quite a few posts over the years about my fused glass stirrers because they’re just so much fun to make—and use! These latest ones are extra special because I added decals, giving each stirrer a unique little personality. Whether you’re stirring coffee, tea, or a fancy mixed drink, these vibrant glass stirrers bring a pop of color and charm to any cup. There are so many creative ways to design them, and I love that they’re both functional and beautiful.
