Strength in Glass: My Casted Fused Glass Bears

I often write about my pocket hearts and crosses, but another casted fused glass piece I truly love making is my fused glass bears. These bears are a bit larger than my hearts, and they hold such a special place in my heart. For me, each one symbolizes strength, resilience, and protection—qualities that a bear naturally represents. This first set is especially dear to me because of its organic, stone-like appearance, giving the bears an earthy, grounded feel that makes them truly unique.

These lighter, more colorful fused glass bears bring a whimsical charm to the collection. While they still represent strength and resilience, their vibrant tones and playful swirls make them perfect as cheerful desk companions or even poker guards. Whether used as comforting pocket charms or simply displayed as tiny pieces of art, each bear is as meaningful as it is unique.

Additionally, there are lots of creative and beautiful ways to display them. You can place them on a desk or shelf as a daily reminder of strength and positivity, or nestle them into a special shadow box or small glass dome for a more elevated presentation. I also love using floating frames—they really make the glass colors and details pop, almost like the bear is suspended in air. Whether you’re gifting them or keeping them for yourself, these versatile little sculptures can easily become a meaningful part of any space.

Whether they’re pocket charms, desk companions, poker guards, or simply stunning pieces of glass art, my fused glass bears hold a special place in my heart. Each one is lovingly crafted to reflect a blend of power, protection, and creativity. From organic textures to vibrant color combinations, and even unique display options, these bears are as meaningful as they are beautiful. I’m so happy to share them with others—may they bring as much joy to you as they do to me.
